At the Notal Vision Monitoring Center, listening to patients is an important part of how we continue to improve the ForeseeHome experience. Over the past several weeks, we hosted small virtual discussion groups with our current ForeseeHome patients to better understand what’s working well, and where we can do better.
During these conversations, patients openly shared their experiences with daily device testing, communication, and how ForeseeHome fits into their everyday lives. Many told us that participation in the program made them feel more informed between regularly scheduled visits with their eye doctor. At the same time, patients also shared areas where they felt that the program could be improved.
A common theme was communication. Some patients said they would like clearer explanations about testing instructions, what their tests mean, and what to expect when they don’t hear from us after completing daily tests. Others noted that while interactions with the Monitoring Center team were helpful, they would benefit from clearer and more consistent explanations about testing-related questions.
Patients also talked about the testing experience itself—from technology challenges to questions about whether they were testing “the right way.” Several participants said they wanted more reassurance that their tests were being reviewed and that variability in testing does not necessarily mean they are doing something wrong.
Our team spent time explaining that ForeseeHome is a monitoring tool designed to look for changes over time, not a vision test, and that not every change or alert reflects disease progression. We heard clearly, however, that patients want this explained more consistently and in simpler terms, our team is looking into the best way to share this information.
We’re grateful for the honesty and thoughtfulness of everyone who participated. These conversations are helping us focus on improvements that matter most to patients, including:
- Clearer and more consistent testing guidance
- Better explanations of what happens behind the scenes after you test
- Expanded educational resources to support confidence and understanding
We’ll continue working closely with our Patient Advisory Council as we explore enhancements and share updates throughout the year. We are always looking for additional patients to join our advisory group. If you are interested, please let us know.
Thank you for being part of the ForeseeHome community and for helping us continue to improve the experience for all patients.
