A real-world analysis of nearly 9,000 patients showed that using ForeseeHome provided significant benefits by detecting wet AMD earlier when vision (or visual acuity) is better. Good vision at diagnosis is one of the factors previously shown to improve long-term visual outcomes in patients who were receiving injections for treatment of wet macular degeneration. Records from the Notal Vision Monitoring Center showed 306 eyes that converted to wet AMD between October 2009 and September 2018.
Functional vision (which is 20/40 or better), is commonly used as a reference when measuring good vision, and indicates the ability to see clearly while performing daily activities, such as driving, golfing, reading, and more. Analysis of these 306 eyes showed that functional vision, when the eyes converted to wet AMD, was maintained in 81% of patients, compared to only 34% of patients who had functional vision without ForeseeHome in another real-world study2.
